The Hanoi American School(HAS) was established in 2007 in response to the lack of choices in the local Hanoi marketplace. Its founders decided to work together to produce a quality education at an affordable price. While diplomatic staff and employees of large NGOs could afford local tuition rates exceeding US$8,000, many cannot. Parents unable to afford these rates have been forced to find alternatives such as tutoring or home schooling which may or may not be effective.

The traditional one size fits all educational programs are not suitable for students who might only stay for 6 months or one year. Oftentimes these students fall through the cracks and just mark time bored and under challenged. When you travel routinely your child needs a consistent progressive program that is both portable and accredited. HAS offers the only program in Vietnam that meets this standard.
|
| |
HAS employs the K-12 internet schooling system to provide our basic curriculum. This program manages your child’s education, provides you real-time evaluation of child’s progress and allows us to develop your child’s potential. Not all children are the same. Each child learns at a different pace. By monitoring your child’s progress HAS supplements areas where your child is having difficulty. Sometimes children learn quickly and HAS provides additional challenges to keep your child from becoming bored.

Please look at the embedded link at K-12 to review the full program. HAS offers a free evaluation test to determine your child’s placement. By offering 4 terms a year HAS can help advance students to make up for shortfalls or offer advanced studies to prepare your child for university or your next port of call. Best of all, this education is portable. Your child can log onto the internet and continue their studies anywhere in the world. For Americans the K-12 transcript is accepted at all American secondary schools. www.k12.com
